Kylie is 5

Well it has come to pass that Kylie is now 5 years old.  Somehow this child has quietly aged.  She is so stealth that it is simply unbelievable that she can be so old.  The picture above draws me in as she does.  What does this child have going on in her mind?  She is a thinker, and an observer.  Today was a whirlwind of loveliness for this child, gifts, friends, ballet class, and the cake she wished for.  Sadie started off the day by making Kylie oatmeal (which she learned over the weekend how to make on her own) serving it to her on a cookie sheet with her favorite fishy plate beneath the oatmeal bowl.  She ate it sitting at the living room coffee table (a normal no no).  Of course I was thrilled that I awoke at such a late hour, 6:30 am without any form of a child at my bedside.

Are you seeing a theme here?  This child does not like to wear a shirt.  This could turn into quite a problem.  As you can see, Kylie got some great gifts, crafts, homemade wristwarmers, a crocheted purse, a handcrafted zoo for all her little animals, and a new outfit and birthday candles from Oma and Pops.
The day ended with our friends the Webbs here for a black bean and rice dinner with Rainbow Cake to follow.

When it was all said and done this girl had a great birthday.  She is loved by many, but most of all by her Creator who has so graciously gifted her to Mat and I for a time.  What a blessing.  I'm so glad to be her mother.  Here are some other pictures taken of this darling girl as of late.
