Take A Hike!

We had a vacation.
It was refreshing to change the scenery
and explore as a family.
One of the highlights of our trip
for Mat and I was our family hike.

It was unique and very suited for our family.
In the past Mat and I have hiked the Pinnacle in
Hamburg, PA with kids and
lots of them.  It became an annual
event to hike a mile or more uphill,
have lunch, Mat would spelunk with the teens
and then it was time to come back off the
mountaintop and go home.
Note: We did this once with Sadie as a baby and it
did not go well, so we haven't done it again.

This is how we hike now:

Sadie was consistently out in front.  I'm wondering if she is
prematurely "too cool" for us already.

Kylie came after Sadie.
Notice the snow on the ski slopes yet.

As you can see Mat and I were the caboose of the train.
It may have had something to do with the added cargo.

The delightful parts of the hike were:
It was along the ridge of a mountain, therefore
we did not have any major inclines to conquer.
There was a tremendous view on either side of us at all times.

Here are some other pictures from our stay. . .

They look cute here, but Caleb didn't remain in bed with the girls.
Rather in true Caleb fashion he tormented them until we moved him
back to his "room," the closet floor.

The adorable little HoneyBuns in the front is my delight.

Favorite thing:  Taking the vacation moment by moment (for the most part)
and enjoying most of those moments.
